During the COVID-19 pandemic, live performances might be out of some people’s comfort zone. To keep the tradition of the luau alive, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa is modifying the performance to make things a little easier, and a little safer, for travelers.

Keeping You And Yours Safe
Award-winning “Drums of the Pacific Lu’au” has wowed visitors for nearly 40 years.
The incredible 3-hour performance takes visitors on an adventure through Hawaiian and Polynesian culture, with authentic chants, music, and dances guiding the performance. The luau culminates with a stunning three-man Samoan fireknife finale.
The luau takes place in the 40-acre Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, a popular traveler destination nested on gorgeous Kaanapali Beach.
The once-in-a-lifetime luau experience is now being offered at a reduced capacity of 300 people. The resort is implementing socially distanced tables as well as increased sanitation of luau grounds. Wellness checks will be required for all staff members before performances.
The resort recently underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation, with guest rooms benefitting from the maintenance. Included in the renovation is one feature that will be a game-changer for luaus — glass lanais, or porches, with prime views of the luau grounds.
See It All From Your Balcony
Visitors lodging in select rooms can experience the iconic luau from the comfort and safety of their balcony. At the start of the luau, guests will be served classic Hawaiian dishes such as Huli Huli Chicken, Kalua Pork, and Pacific Ahi Poke. Guests will also be served their cocktail of choice in addition to Hawaiian leis and an LED fireknife stick.
The experience is just $195 per room per two adults and can be booked at +1 808-667-4932.
