The catch? It’s available for one night, and one night only, next spring.
And it’s likely you’ll have to log on as soon as the booking period opens on December 6 in order to score the coveted reservation. Here’s the scoop.
Villa Balbiano Is Showcased In House Of Gucci Movie
Built in the 16th century, Villa Balbiano is today one of the largest private residences on Lake Como, Italy, according to the Airbnb listing. With beautifully landscaped gardens, the villa on the lake’s western shore was showcased — albeit briefly — in the House of Gucci film starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino.
The lavish mansion serves as the villa home of Al Pacino’s character, Aldo Gucci, patriarch of the family that launched a fashion empire. The grounds are the backdrop for Aldo’s birthday party scenes for just a short while — moviegoers mainly see the exterior of the lakefront villa — in the movie that has been largely panned by critics.
Still, a drone-camera view of the majestic estate in the film reveals a private waterfront locale where one lucky person can live like a Hollywood star for a night. Images on Airbnb show crystal chandeliers and velvet furnishings in the bedrooms and living areas, as well as bathrooms made of marble. Seventeenth-century frescoes adorn the walls, and period antiques are found throughout the property.
There’s also an outdoor pool and private boathouse and pier. Whoever rents the home will have access to the first three floors, which are accessible by elevator. It has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and the listing notes that to experience it all in one night (check-in at 3 p.m. and check-out at 11 a.m.), the guests may not want to sleep!
How To Reserve Villa Balbiano On Airbnb
Currently, all “available dates” on the Airbnb listing are marked occupied. But presumably, on December 6 “at 12 p.m. ET,” interested parties will be able to log on to reserve Villa Balbiano for $1,131 for one night: March 30, 2022.
Technically, that means it goes up for reservation at noon on December 6, so if you’re eager to book, get your trigger finger ready by 11:59 a.m. Eastern Time on December 6. (Unless the Airbnb listing was meant to be midnight ET on December 6, in which case you might want to consider logging on at 11:59 p.m. on December 5!)
