This week, the hotel chain announced a partnership with the country’s largest hospitality chain, Vinpearl, to open eight hotels in Vietnam in the coming years. Six will be conversions of established hotels, while two will be new builds.
In total, the arrangement will account for more than 2,200 new rooms in the country.
“We are thrilled to be working with Vinpearl to accelerate our growth in Vietnam,” Rajeev Menon, president of the Asia Pacific region for Marriott International, said in a release. “With the country’s solid foundation for a resilient economy, and continuous growth of its infrastructure, especially in the tourism sector, we are confident this collaboration will enable us to better cater to our guests’ needs.”
Marriott already operates 10 hotels in Vietnam and previously announced plans to add 20 more. With the partnership with Vinpearl, Marriott will have close to 40 properties in Vietnam in the near future.
The new hotels announced this week include:
1. Vinpearl Landmark 81
The first hotel in the Autograph Collection, this property is currently known as Vinpearl Luxury Landmark 81. The 1,500-foot tower located on the banks of the Saigon River will have 223 rooms and suites as well as restaurants, function spaces, a spa, pool, and other amenities when conversion is complete.
2. Danang Marriott Resort & Spa
Located on Non Nuoc Beach in Danang, the hotel is currently operated as Vinpearl Luxury Danang. It will feature 200 rooms and suites and 39 villas when complete, as well as event spaces, restaurants, an infinity pool, a dive center, tennis courts, and more.
3. Sheraton Long Beach Phu Quoc Resort
Located on Vietnam’s largest island, this property will be rebranded from its current Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort. It will include 500 rooms, suites, and villas, three pools, conference spaces, and more.
4. Sheraton Hai Phong
Located in the heart of Vietnam’s largest port city, the property will include 362 residential rooms and suites. Known currently as the Vinpearl Hotel Imperial, it will also include restaurants, a ballroom, four function spaces, and more.
5. Sheraton Can Tho
Currently operating as the Vinpearl Hotel Can Tho, the 262-room hotel is located in the heart of the Mekong Delta. It will also include a grand ballroom, pool, restaurants, and event spaces.
6. Four Points By Sheraton Lang Son
This 21-story hotel in Lang Son currently operates as the Vinpearl Hotel Lang Son. On the smaller side, it features 127 rooms and suites, four food and beverage venues, a spa, and more. When conversion is complete, it will be the first internationally branded hotel in the city.
New Builds
In addition to the six conversions, Marriott is planning two new hotels expected to open in 2025. The Sheraton Vinh and Four Points by Sheraton Ha Giang will be geared toward both domestic and international travelers.
