Is there anything better than sipping a great glass of wine? In my opinion, the only thing that is better than sipping a glass of wine is enjoying that glass of wine with a loved one or a group of friends. When I am ready to do just that, I head out to some of my favorite wineries near Dallas.

Granted, wine probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Dallas, Texas, but I am here to help change that! The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is home to numerous wineries and vineyards that are just waiting to be explored.
Whether you are looking for a nice sweet wine or a great dry wine, these wineries near Dallas have you covered. Granted, all of these wineries aren’t in Dallas proper, but they are all near Dallas (within a two-hour drive), making them easy to visit from the Big D.
Let’s jump in and see what these North Texas wineries have to offer!
1. Delaney Vineyards
Grapevine
Take a drive on Highway 121 in Grapevine and you are guaranteed to spot Delaney Vineyards. It is the beautiful French chateau surrounded by rows of vineyards right off the highway. Granted, you can hear the cars zooming by while in the vineyard, but don’t let that stop you from visiting Delaney Vineyards.
The owner, Jerry Delaney, fell in love with the architecture of the French chateaus while traveling and decided to fashion his tasting room after an 18th-century French chateau. The incredible wooden doors have welcomed visitors since 1996.
The majority of the wine served at Delaney is estate-grown either on the 10 acres in Grapevine or the company’s larger property in West Texas, Lamesa Estate Vineyards. You can participate in a wine tasting to see which of their red and white wines you like best.
During your visit, be sure to try the Texas claret wine which is a mix of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc grapes. The fruitiness and peppery finish make this a great wine to pair with food.
In addition to its wine-tasting room, Delaney Vineyard is also a premier venue for special events. Offering only one event per day, you are guaranteed to have a dedicated space for your wedding or party.
For operating hours and more information, visit the Delaney Vineyard website.
2. Times Ten Cellars
Dallas
If you are looking for the perfect place for a date night in Dallas, then look no further than Times Ten Cellars on Prospect Avenue. This Dallas winery has been a neighborhood staple for over 15 years and is the go-to wine bar in the area.
Since Times Ten Cellars is a working winery, you can take a tour of the winery before settling in to enjoy your favorite wine. Their numerous rooms and patio allow for comfortable seating and a fun, laid-back atmosphere for your wine experience.
The wine at Times Ten Cellars is produced from grapes sourced from both Texas and California, ensuring they serve unique wines that are easy to drink. If you aren’t sure where to start, then enjoy one of their tasting flights that serve up red, white, or sweet varieties. They have a delicious pinot noir, a zesty tempranillo, and a fabulous cabernet sauvignon.
In addition to the wines offered at Times Ten Cellars, guests can also enjoy specialty wines and beverages. These offerings include ciders from a local brewery, prosecco, and ports.

3. Lost Oak Winery

Head about 45-minutes southwest of Dallas to the small North Texas town of Burleson, and you will find Lost Oak Winery. Situated on 52 acres, Lost Oak is more than just a winery, it is a true wine experience. Lost Oak Winery prides itself on being one of the family-friendly wineries in North Texas. 4. Arché Winery
Saint Jo
Arche Winery is set in the beautiful rolling hills of the Red River Valley, about 1.5 hours north of Dallas. With a focus on Texas grapes, Arche Winery is a unique Texas winery as it is one of the few wineries in the state to grow chardonnay grapes. Combine that with their focus on other French varieties, including syrah and Roussanne, and you know that you are going to be enjoying some good wine!
The winemaker at Arche Winery prides himself on producing high-quality wines that are reminiscent of the wine produced in France. The winemaker uses its Texas grapes to replicate wines produced in the Rhone region of France. They even age their wines in French Oak to ensure the best quality possible. If you are interested in learning more about the winemaking process at Arche, then be sure to sign up for a winery tour during your visit.
Their wine-tasting room is set in the middle of the vineyards so guests are treated to beautiful views as they enjoy their wine. You can do a wine tasting and enjoy four different wines to determine your favorite. Some of my favorite wines at Arche are the chardonnay, Mourvedre, syrah, and the yellow rosé.
Please visit Arche Winery for more information including operating hours and tasting prices.
5. 4R Ranch Vineyards And Winery
Muenster
If you are looking for a North Texas winery that serves up delicious wines while offering a fabulous view, then consider visiting 4R Ranch Vineyards & Winery in Muenster, Texas. Honestly, I couldn’t believe the view the first time I visited!
Setting high atop a hill overlooking valleys covered in trees and vineyards, one might think they are in Napa Valley when they visit this beautiful North Texas winery. The winery, which is powered by, “the sun, earth, and wind,” according to their website, offers up the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a glass of wine.
Cozy up to the wine bar inside of the Wind Shed Tasting Room to taste some of the delicious wines produced by 4R Ranch. Of course, like most wineries, you can do a traditional tasting, but if you want a unique experience, why not try one of the barrel tastings offered by 4R? This one-hour tour allows you to learn more about the winemaking process and sample four wines straight from the barrel.

My 4R Ranch recommendations include the viognier, the rosé, and Nectar, their award-winning sweet white wine.
6. Eden Hill Winery And Vineyard
Dallas Farmers Market And Celina

The Celina, Texas location of Eden Hill provides visitors with the opportunity to tour their Eden Hill Estate. The estate, which consists of a 10-acre estate, tempranillo vineyard, cellar bar, and patio, is the perfect place to enjoy wine while relaxing in the Texas countryside.
In addition to the vineyard in Celina, Eden Hill also has a wine-tasting room in the Dallas Farmers Market in Downtown Dallas. Here you can enjoy their delicious wines paired with a tasty dish like their artichoke dip and chips or a luscious chocolate mousse.
