Whether you’re a rum expert or just learning to love it, this festival gives you the opportunity to celebrate artisanal rums from the region’s top producers.
“This year’s Caribbean Rum Awards St. Barth will be bigger and better than ever,” Alexander Britell, editor and publisher of Caribbean Journal and co-founder of the event, told TravelAwaits. “St. Barth is a magical island, and it’s the perfect backdrop for our celebration of ultra-premium, artisanal rums.”
It’s headquartered at the Rhum Room in Gustavia.
Caribbean Rum Awards
The celebration of the best rum in the world is anchored by the annual blind-tasting rum competition. An international panel of experts selects winners in 10 different categories, including choosing the coveted World Champion. Last year, Martinique’s Rhum Neisson took the crown.
“There is something for everyone, and certainly rum aficionados will love the elbow rubbing with world-class distillers, blenders, and ambassadors, all bringing their A-game to St. Barth,” Christopher Davis, proprietor of the Rhum Room and co-founder of the event, told TravelAwaits. “After speaking to the representatives of all the brands that won last year, there is an undercurrent of competition and preparation for this year, and [they are] bringing new and special bottles for everyone to taste. We welcome everyone to sunny St. Barth to enjoy the best rum the Caribbean has to offer, whether Ron, Rum, or Rhum.”
This year’s awards are held in partnership with the Rhum Room in St. Barth and the Quarter Kitchen and Cocktail Lab.
Schedule Of Events
The festival has an exciting schedule of events, from the Opening Rhum Party at the renowned Le Barthélemy Hotel on October 31 to the midnight afterparty that will go into the wee hours of November 5; from the Tradewind Rum Expo and rum-and-cocktail pairing dinners to rum-and-cigar parties and classes with celebrated distillers. There will also be a bartending competition and a ti’ punch happy hour.

While the Tradewind Expo is open to the public, the best way to experience this year’s festival is with an all-access ticket.
