This cozy restaurant offers many mouth-watering dishes, but their hummus salad dip stands out. It’s made with the creamiest chickpeas and topped with red peppers, tomatoes, and roasted almonds with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. It’s a game-changer and an absolute must-try appetizer item on their menu. Others at my table enjoyed the Wisconsin cheese curds.
For my entrée, I ordered the Mandarin chicken salad. I loved the crunchy noodles and sesame seeds on the salad.
The Milwaukee Grill has hit all the right notes — delicious food, a comfortable environment, and friendly service. It is a perfect spot to grab a bite and relax with friends and family.

You know that feeling when you walk into a restaurant and everything clicks? That’s what it feels like when you step into the cozy atmosphere of the 29 South Cafe. It is a family owned and operated restaurant, and from the moment you arrive, the outstanding service makes you feel right at home. And the food, oh my! Every item on the made-from-scratch breakfast menu is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.
We visited for breakfast, and several of those in our group ordered and raved about the savory quiche with fresh fruit. But if you have more of a sweet tooth like me, you can’t go wrong with the peanut butter and banana pancakes sprinkled with powdered sugar.

4. The Sandwich Bar
If you’re in the mood for a delicious sandwich, The Sandwich Bar in Janesville, Wisconsin, is the perfect place. With a menu filled with tasty and unique sandwich options, you will surely find something that will hit the spot.
I tried something new and had the triple turkey sandwich. It had a layer of brined turkey breast, braised dark meat, and crunchy fried turkey skins with a bacon-onion jam. This sandwich is a real crowd-pleaser.
We shared a chocolate chip bread pudding for dessert and the “Color-Me-Pink” drink. Everything was delicious!
The Sandwich Bar is also uniquely decorated, paying tribute to Julia Child and other chefs with wall-sized colorful murals. It is a must-visit spot in Janesville.

And if you’re looking for something unique to take home, they also offer wine jams and jellies for sale as well as their enticing wines.
We stopped for a wine tasting and they brought out a charcuterie spread from which you could make a meal. They provided a list of wines; you can select those you want to taste when you order a tasting flight. I gravitate toward sweet wines and loved all that I tried.
Northleaf Winery offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a date or girls’ night out. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or enjoy a good glass now and then, check out this delicious wine bar.

Located near Janesville on beautiful Lake Koshkonong in the heart of the Badger State, this iconic Supper Club has been serving mouth-watering meals for generations. From perfectly cooked prime rib to their seafood and beef Wellington, everything on the menu is sure to tantalize your taste buds.
We dined on their patio overlooking the lake. They had a special steak bruschetta appetizer on the menu when we visited, and it was huge and so good. The meat just melted in your mouth and it was large enough to have as a meal. I had the filet mignon as my entrée and it was outstanding. The person seated beside me ordered the prime rib and it filled the plate!
The Buckhorn serves some seriously delicious cocktails, including their “X-Rated Vacation” drink. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the Buckhorn Supper Club is the perfect spot for a memorable night out.

Their delicious sandwiches are the talk of the town — for a good reason — they’re simply scrumptious! We enjoyed their box lunches picnic-style after a morning of kayaking. Not only are the sandwiches tasty, but they’re also made with fresh ingredients, making for a satisfying and healthy meal.
