On the north Oregon coast, we found gorgeous vacation rentals in charming Cannon Beach with views of the most iconic sea stack (large stacks of rocks that were once part of the coastline), Haystack Rock. Families and fishermen alike will enjoy the pup-friendly place we recommend in Rockaway Beach. We also found plenty of perfect places to stay in Tillamook County’s Pacific City, which is known for the Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area, and one in the sleepy seaside town of Neskowin.
Making our way down to the central Oregon coast, we sourced some amazing Vrbos in bustling Lincoln City, which along with its long stretch of gorgeous sandy beach, is known for its food scene, casinos, and shopping. On down the 101, we also found a great Oregon Coast vacation rental in Depoe Bay, which is known as the Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast. Here are some amazing oceanside vacation rentals to consider for your next visit to the Oregon coast.
Seaside House
Located just south of downtown Seaside, this four-bedroom waterfront vacation home is dog-friendly, for a nightly fee. Take in panoramic coastal views from the living room, main bedroom, and deck. This home boasts two stone fireplaces — one inside and one outside. Parking is provided in the driveway.
Cannon Beach House With Haystack Rock View
Located on a quiet, oceanfront street in the heart of Cannon Beach, this vacation rental features easy beach access and unbelievable views of the Pacific, Haystack Rock, and the smaller rock formations called The Needles. Watch the sun go down over the water while sitting in front of the fireplace inside, or go outside and sit by the firepit on either of the two decks. Both decks offer the perfect perch to watch the ocean, beachgoers, and bald eagles in their search for puffins on The Rock, and the lower deck also has a hot tub.
Haystack Rock is just a five-minute walk, while restaurants can be reached in eight minutes on foot. Explore the tide pools, shops and galleries, and nearby Ecola Park’s coastline.
Rockaway Beach House
Just steps from the water, this dog-friendly Rockaway Beach vacation rental boasts sweeping ocean views from both levels. Watch the sun set over the water from the hot tub on the deck. Lake Lytle is just across the highway, where you can try to hook at smallmouth bass, perch, or rainbow trout.
A leisurely walk or two-minute drive leads you into the heart of Rockaway Beach, where you can shop and grab a bite to eat. More shopping and dining options can be found about 10 miles north along Laneda Avenue in Manzanita. Take a short drive south to go crabbing in Garibaldi.
Pacific City Oceanfront House
Located on quiet Sunset Avenue, this Pacific City beach house features amazing oceanfront views and direct beach access. The back deck offers the perfect place to watch the sun go down over the water. Cozy up by the woodstove after a long day of exploring. Garage parking is available.
Located between the Nestucca River and the ocean, Sunset Avenue stretches south from the middle of Pacific City and leads directly into Bob Straub State Park. One of the best fishing holes in the area can be found off this road. In the spring and fall, fishermen catch huge Chinook salmon.
Pacific City Beachfront House
Haystack Rock lies directly in front of this beachfront vacation rental in Pacific City’s gated community of Kiwanda Shores. In addition to giant rock views, enjoy views of Cape Kiwanda and the giant dune to the north and Porter Point to the south. Watch kids surf from the deck, or head down to the water for a dip.
The famous Pelican Brewery is just a short walk up the beach from here. The hosts do warn winter guests that winds can reach up to 100 miles an hour, which can create a sand berm in front of the house and block the view.
Pacific City Oceanfront Home
Also located on the beach in Pacific City in the gated community of Kiwanda Shores, this oceanfront vacation home offers spectacular unobstructed views from both of its levels. Rinse off in the outdoor shower after a day on the beach. Play pool, ping pong, or video games in the rec room. Cape Kiwanda’s coffee shops, restaurants, and surf shop are all within walking distance.
Pacific City Luxury Oceanfront House
As one recent reviewer wrote, this four-bedroom oceanfront vacation home is “a fantastic place to have a front-row seat of the majestic Pacific Ocean.” Take in the incredible views of the beach from both the oceanfront patio and rooftop patio. A convenient outdoor shower makes it easy to rinse the sand off your feet. One small dog is allowed for $20 a night. Garage parking is available for one vehicle, while the driveway can accommodate three more.
Neskowin Beach Luxury Oceanfront Home
Featuring breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and Proposal Rock, this three-bedroom oceanview vacation home is just steps from the sand in a gated community in Neskowin. Highlights include a hot tub, fireplace, and game room. The back deck offers views of the beach and Proposal Rock, while the front deck offers sunrise and wildlife views. Sip your morning coffee and keep an eye out for deer, bunnies, birds, and squirrels. Beach chairs, towels, and toys are provided for your stay.
Just steps away, Hawk Creek offers even more spectacular views. Follow the private path on the side of the house about 10 steps down to the sand to do some shell hunting. Saunter down the beach to adorable Neskowin Village and local cafes.
Lincoln City Oceanview House
Perched on the cliffside, this dog-friendly Lincoln City vacation rental overlooks Nelscott Beach. A wall of windows offers a fabulous view of the sunset over the water. Keep an eye out for surfers, sea lions, whales, bald eagles, osprey, and pelicans as you sit by the fire table on the deck.
A tall staircase leads to the beach and a large rock area that’s perfect for finding tidal pools and seashells at low tide. Further out, a reef that makes for great fishing attracts boats of fishermen.
Transformation Point In Lincoln City
Located in the historic bayfront Taft District of Lincoln City, this four-bedroom vacation home offers unparalleled views of Siletz Bay, the Salishan Spit, and the Pacific Ocean from its floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive wrap-around deck.
Walk to the beach, Siletz Bay, and the Taft District’s shops, restaurants, and Lincoln City Glass Center, where you can blow your own glass. Lincoln City’s casino and outlets, Salishan’s golf course and spa, whale-watching in Depoe Bay, and Newport’s bustling marina, shops, and aquarium are all within a half an hour’s drive.
Depoe Bay Condo
Working our way down the Central Coast to the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast,” this studio loft apartment is perched above a prominent retail location in the heart of Depoe Bay. From March through December, a pod of grey whales resides off of Depoe Bay. Visitors come from all over to watch the majestic creatures from the Whale Watch Center, a chartered boat trip, or one of the several observation spots onshore.
Running the length of the downtown area, a huge sea wall enables visitors to shop and dine with ocean views. Just off the sea wall, the Coast Guard runs extraordinary training missions in the surf. Known as spouting horns, waves run beneath lava beds, building pressure that results in water spouts that can reach as high as 60 feet during high tide.
