    Beautiful property!
Awesome two nights with kids, exactly as listing describes, would stay again
We had the best anniversary weekend at this beautiful cabin! Everything was so clean and so adorable. The hot tub was amazing and we loved the gas fire pit. It was even more beautiful in person! Can’t wait to stay again!
The perfect little cabin tucked away for a enjoyable and relaxing time. We loved that it was close to all the trails. We also enjoyed a nice soak in the hot tub after a day of hiking.
The cabin is awesome, clean and nicely appointed. Unfortunately two things caused our stay to be stressful and disappointing, so you might want to look elsewhere. First the mattress in the master bedroom is so worn out that we spent half the night rolling to the middle and fighting to get back to the edge. Finally I gave up and went to sleep in the top bunk bed. We are fairly small people, so I am unsure how anyone who is heavy would manage to get any sleep here. Then there is the driveway. If you come in an SUV or truck you will be fine. If you are in a performance car on your way to the tail of the dragon, your car will not make it up and down the driveway. The gravel was washed out where it meets the concrete and it took us twenty minutes of stacking rocks and logs up to build ramps to get my car off of the driveway and onto the road. There was some damage done to my splitter, unfortunately I did not heed the “a four wheel drive truck is recommended” in the cabin description. Both of these issues could easily be corrected, a new mattress and extending the driveway to transition smoothly into the road are simple fixes. Most of the other cabins on this road had better driveways.

Generally, the maintenance is very poor & there seems to be no standard of cleanliness or maintenance in this cabin.First thing we found in the cabin was the spray nozzle head at the kitchen sink leaked from the hose and the nozzle-holder bezel to the sink was loose. Water was flowing all over the countertop. We did not find any bed linens for the air mattress. We did find an extra fitted sheet for a single bed. There’s a roof leak over the upstairs bathroom toilet. There are rusted chairs at the 3-piece table set on the deck.Neither of the ceiling fan lights worked properly. Only one of the living area fans worked.Hazard: Broken living room window could badly cut a hand if it is run across the glass!Hazard: The circular staircase has protruding unprotected metal step brackets at heights where anyone could be badly injured if an arm, shoulder, face, or head is to hit them.Hazard: There is a 2×4 set onto the floor next to the base cabinet, across from frig, that easily catches toes.Hazard: The upstairs bathroom window is broken. The dresser in the downstairs bedroom has only one working drawer. It should be thrown out. Goodwill doesn’t take furniture that bad.The cold air return filter was heavily coated with dirt. The grate covering it was also fully covered with hair, dirt, & dust. The inside of the cabin was overrun with carpenter ants. The Front door was falling off the hinges where the frame was badly rotted. The door did not seal to the frame molding & was difficult to open & close due to rot.Greasy handprints were all over the microwave, kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, & the inside of front door. The silverware provided for a cabin advertised to sleep 7 were 8 soup spoons, 5 teaspoons, 6 forks, & 3 table knives.Access to Wi-Fi was not possible given the instructions in the Welcome Book. The router name wasn’t listed anywhere. Only two networks were listed but neither worked with the provided password. The A/C was off & cabin was hot & stuffy. There were no instructions for the operation of the advanced electronic system that had been left in a “REGISTER 0” state on the screen. The trees over the driveway needs to be cut for unobstructed access to cabin.Exposed nail in the seat of one kitchen chairs.Rusted floor vents. The downstairs bathroom towel rod was falling off the wall.Rusted appliances; refrigerator, vent hood, & Microwave with peeling paint inside it.Cobwebs on the floor lamp shade.Baluster falling off deck railing.
We had a nice stay. Definitely follow the instructions provided, it was a bit difficult to find. The overhead lights didn’t work and because of lack of service I wasn’t able to get someone to come fix it. Smaller than the pictures show but a nice place overall. Great location!
Me and my family had a great time at the cabin we enjoyed everything about our trip. It was clean and it smelled really good. The manger was so helpful with all of my question. And so nice and message back in a timely manner. It was just a great 2nd time experience. And would definitely love to come back. All the the jets in the hot tub wasn’t working for some reason. But we enjoyed what we did have. And the tub upstairs was very lovely and well needed after all the hiking we did. I just wanted to say thank you so much for letting us get to stay at this beautiful cabin and I highly recommend people staying there
My family and I had a lovely stay at this property. It was beautifully appointed and mostly comfortable. There were a few minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed, but the property manager has been notified and indicates that the repairs will be done. The only real disappointment with the maintenance issues was the jetted tub in the upstairs loft was not working – button frozen solid and would not turn on. It is otherwise a nice bath, but I was really looking forward to those jets after a long day of hiking. The other thing I will say is that the cleaning people go very heavy on the Lysol/chemical cleaners in this property. If you like that kind of thing, it’s a good thing, however I am chemical sensitive and that did put a bit of a damper on the visit for me. I was also personally unable to use the hot tub because of the level of chemicals in it. I understand that this is not an issue that affects everyone, but if you are someone who is multiple chemical sensitive, you may wish to find a different property that doesn’t use so much heavy chemicals to clean and sanitize the place. The rest of my family was not bothered.Overall, wonderful stay, would recommend. If the upstairs bathtub was fixed and they used milder cleansers to clean the place, I’d totally go back again! 🙂 My husband and girls both want to. 🙂
The cabin was as described. The Google directions are inaccurate, so it’s crucial to follow the directions provided by the management. I would suggest a bigger sign with the cabin name placed in more visible spot as well as trimming off the branches around it. I don’t think we would be able to find the cabin at night. Overall a very good experience and we enjoyed our stay.

Nice, clean property with all you need for a relaxing getaway. Close to great hiking. Decent grocery store in Stanton. Charming coffee shop nearby. Kendra was an informative and responsive host. Steep access road and lots of stairs, but worth it!
Loved this cabin. So clean and beautiful. We had a great short weekend stay with family. Slow and easy up the hill to get to it but worth it.
I booked and paid for this stay months in advance for a long girls weekend, my reservation was immediately accepted and the funds transferred. It took us over an hour to find the cabin and when we did we couldn’t get in. We called the property manager, who initially did not answer. When she called back, she was very rude and said I hadn’t signed the rental agreement. Isn’t that what VRBO is for? She accepted my money. She was unable to send me said agreement at the time of the call. Took us an extra hour to search my spam email, sign on my phone, send to her, and wait for her to text us back the door code. There’s a messaging system in the VRBO app. Despite the fact that I don’t think it’s even legal to refuse entry to a property I’ve already paid for, why not send the documents and a message on the app?
It was super easy to rent this property. The property manager was amazing. She was in constant communication. We are already planning our next trip at this location.
The cabin was gorgeous, everything was amazing!

Towels had very bad smell like has not been washed.Gas grill needs to replaced pretty disgusting we were not able to grill.
Cabin was great. Just what I expected
Others mentioned it but the driveway was a bit challenging. Other than that the rental was great! No issues with anything
Great location close to Natural Bridge park, hiking trails, kayaking in a mine, and local BBQ. The cabin had a fire pit and grill for outdoor cooking. The kitchen had all the cookware and necessities. Clean and comfortable hot tub. We enjoyed our stay.

Clever idea to make a cabin out of shipping containers. Very attractive interior. Comfortable bed. Slow WiFi. No reading lamps.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The cabin had everything we needed. Highly recommended!
Nice clean and very relaxing property,
We had a wonderful time. This cabin is unique, quiet, clean, first class accomodation. Amanda & Chad were awesome hosts. We will be back !!!!!
We were so happy with this house we plan on coming again. The setting was private, but there were neighbors close enough for us to feel safe. The home is an awesome container house, with very cool, modern decor. Everything was clean and check in/out was seamless and easy. The home is a little off of the beaten path, but the directions were spot on for finding it. The price was great also!

Cozy and comfortable cabin. We will return soon.
We had a great stay at this beautiful getaway. The place was immaculate with all necessary amenities provided. That hill getting to the house was a doozie. I had an AWD vehicle, so it was no problem.
Good house on a beautiful property
We enjoyed our stay in the clean, cozy cabin with cute rustic decor. Upon our arrival the cleaning lady was leaving and she was very friendly. The online listing mentioned fishing pond and hiking trails on the property but we didn’t see any details on that (I.e., where to find the trails, etc) in the cabin but they did supply info on other activities/restaurants in area. The road to the cabins was extremely narrow in spots with steep drop off. Wouldn’t want to drive it in bad weather conditions. TV service roku had no live/local tv. The internet went out often during our 2 day stay. My AT&T cell phone had no service there. Also, when I set up my phone for Wi-Fi calling and 911 service the 911 could not recognize the address.
We had a wonderful stay and the cabin was better than described. It was well stocked and very clean. Best vrbo experience so far and they’ve all been great!

Kassie was great! Very thorough communication prior to check in. When we arrived, the last guest had not let them know that the batteries in the remote were dead. When we figured it out, we texted Kassie & she had the batteries over to us within a couple of hours! Great stay! Very private and relaxing!
wonderful cabin, perfect setting. comfortable beds. close to Slade and all the hiking trails.
This place was perfect! The house was great! Super clean and bigger than expected. Everything was easy to access and the host checked on us multiple times and was very responsive when we needed something. We will definitely be back and have already referred a friend.
Very easy, great updates and communication. Pleasant people.
The cabin was so easy to find and was so beautiful. Had a wonderful night there! The only reason for my 4 star review is due to the hot tub being quite cold. We would’ve stayed in it all night but it got way to cold to be comfortable, I was giving the information that the heating panel had went out prior to our arrival so I knew that may have been an issue. Still disappointing though, hopefully it gets fixed for the next guest because it’s basically a small pool right now, but still enjoyable when its warmer out. But besides that we had a wonderful time staying at Brookside cabins. And the checking in and checking out process was extremely easy. I would definitely stay again!

    Loved the cabin!!!
I can’t say enough good things about this cabin! It was super clean, which is very important to me. Nice amenities, furnishings, and the best part was the owner’s collection of folk art. Just amazing.
My wife and I came down for a thanksgiving weekend getaway a and everything was perfect. Prior to the stay, John, had communicated everything very clearly, there was a guidebook of recommendations in the cabin and we had everything we could have hoped for! We have already told family members about it and intend to stay again!
