Pat Pilcher spent 30 years working as a forestry technician, park ranger, and naturalist guide. His career includes jobs with the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, King County Parks in Washington state, and Seattle Parks and Recreation. His work took him to assignments in Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and California.
Retirement has meant more time to spend with his five grandchildren while helping them learn about, and appreciate, the natural world. Pat enjoys baking bread for a local food bank and volunteers to lead field trips to natural locations in the Puget Sound area.
Pat also takes pleasure in writing about the fascinating people and places in the West.
