Bhutan is the Himalaya's smallest and only Buddhist state, other neighboring countries include Tibet China to its north, India to its south, Nepal to its west, and Myanmar to its east.

Bhutan accepts low tourist arrivals through the "High Value, Low Impact" tourism approach. Even charge a visa of US $100 per day to avoid overtourism as of 2024.

All visitors except Indians have to request an online visa and the number of tourists issued to each country is capped. Countries are permitted to get visas on arrival.

Travelers need to reserve their programs with registered tour operators, but more than 75 registered guides are on hand to provide customized tours.
